DT AERO 86 ^Sale

Our Fast and Light 86mm deep aero wheel was the perfect wheel for riding time trials and triathlons, and for 2019 we have improved upon our design. We have now created the Aero 86 and will outfit it in your choice of DT Swiss hubs. You’ll be winning races left and right with these wheels.

We constructed our FL 86 using Toray T700. The use of T700 allowed us to build you an affordable tubeless ready aero wheel. It allowed us to build in the qualities of lightweight, strength, and stiffness as well.

For 2019 we wanted to make the FL 86 lighter. Our engineers analyzed new carbon layups, and in the end, they decided upon a mix of T700 and T800 carbon fiber. The new mix of carbon fibers allowed us to keep all the best features of the FL series but also save around 100g of weight per wheelset.

We also updated our brake track. We took the 240° of heat tolerance found on our FL rims and increased that to 300° on our new Aero rims.

To connect our carbon rims to your choice of DT Swiss hubs we used Sapim CX-Ray spokes. We use the aero CX-Ray spokes as they are as light as titanium but as stiff as steel. A great mix to make a high-quality wheelset.

Finally, you have to make your choice of DT Swiss hub. You can maximize the affordability of your wheels by picking the 350S. If you want to maximize lower weight, then you should pick the 240S. Either way, you will have a high quality sealed bearing hubset that gives you instant drive.

Wide Rim Tech

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.

This wheelset has been certified and approved by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), for use in UCI sanctioned road races.
